Danika Turns 14 Months and we celebrate 3 months as a family

The only ornament on the tree this year.
Our little sweetie in front of the tree.
Opening the door of the day in her Advent Calendar.
Opening yet another present from a friend.
Enjoying the tree.
Hanging with Dad watching Muppet Christmas.
Just cute little me.
Taking mommy's teddy bear for a ride.
I love lo mein.
Yuk Mommy! Not another kiss!
Making music.
I love playing with tea lights, taking out and putting back, taking out and putting back.
Did someone mention bedtime?
Just me, cute as a button.
Enjoying mommy's lipstick.
Yesterday our little Danika turned 14 months old! We are continually amazed at how fast she learns and how quickly time passes. She continues to absorb everything around her and learns so fast. Last week she woke up and Dan was getting ready for work. She wanted to be held by him and he was shaving so I told her, “Daddy is shaving right now, when he’s done he’ll pick you up and you’ll have to kiss his cheek to see if his skin is soft”. So Dan finished shaving, and got ready for work. When he was done Danika immediately went into his arms and reached over and kissed his cheek to see if his skin was soft! Danika is in love with the Christmas tree! Every time we plug it in she makes the most precious “ohhhh” face and wants to touch the tree. She’s been very good about just gently touching the tree. This year it just has lights and ribbons on it. We are also very glad that she has settled in more and has started to sleep almost all through the night. This has made our lives much easier and it’s nice going to work not so sleep deprived. It will still be awhile before we catch up but it is much improved over the first few weeks we were home. We purchased an Advent Calendar to try and teach Danika about Jesus’ birth, ever night she is so excited to open the little door on that day’s date to see what little surprise she gets. She is in awe every time and it’s so cute to see. Each night we explain to her how many days until baby Jesus comes.
On December 11th we celebrated 3 months together as a family. Danika has done an amazing job at settling in and we think she likes her new home! We are very excited to spend our first Christmas with Danika as a family. We hope this time is a time of wonder and rejoicing at Jesus’ birth with your family as well. Merry Christmas!

Too cute about her waiting to hug daddy! Merry Christmas, Happy New Year and Happy 14 months, Danika! Charlotte was 15 months last year at Christmas, and it was way different this year at 27 months as she definitely has the concept of presents down now.
