Danika wishes you many Happy New Year scrunches!
We had a great time celebrating Chinese New Year this year. We attended a New Year’s party at the home of one of our friends from our Minnesota Red Thread group. This is the first time Danika got to meet our friends and I think she was a little overwhelmed about not being the ONLY cute, adorable and special little Chinese girl, there were LOTS of cute, adorable and special little Chinese Girls there (and one BOY too!). He sure had his pick of beautiful little girls!
We also had a Family celebration at the Tea House in White Bear. Danika was dressed up in her red “fluffy” Chinese dress and we celebrated in style. She had so much fun with Grandma and Grandpa and Aunt Julie and cousin Mikayla. Danika loves babies and is very good at gentle behavior with them.
Danika turned 15 months on January 22nd, she is such a precious gift. She has learned how to play ring around the rosie and wants to do it “morah morah” all the time, “morah momma, morah momma”, so we spend a lot of evenings holding hands and all falling down.
She’s also learning “The wheels on the bus” and has been practicing tracing her letters of the alphabet. We’ve discovered she loves blueberries, and have to hide them til the meal is over or that’s all she eats. She is starting to like markers and crayons (oh joy!) and loves to help mommy brush her hair and put on her deodorant in the mornings.
Danika has learned to make "scrunch face" every time we say the word "face", in casual conversation, etc. Every time she hears "face"s she scrunches!
She is also loving her daddy. When she sits on the couch and she is on the floor in front of her she leans over, pats his back and kisses the back of his head, so precious to see how much she loves her daddy! She also loves riding on his back and pats him and kisses him constantly (She actually loves riding on anything, there is a “zebra” rocking horse at daycare she can often be found on).
Danika is still a little peanut, just now fitting well into 12 month size clothes but is gaining a bit of weight, as her rosy cheeks will show.
Hope your New Year is wonderful!

I'm so glad we got to meet Danika at the party on Saturday! I remember the one at Diana's when you guys were still waiting, and now you have a beautiful little girl.
Happy New Year!
Happy CNY! Great pics! Oh - and you should get Color Wonder markers - they only write on the special paper that they come with. It was great meeting your sweet girl - she is full of personality!
Love the scrunch face pics! Happy Chinese New Year!
