We've now been home two weeks with our precious little bundle from China. We are still exhausted but things are getting better. Danika is teething, has had a bad cold and the flu since we've arrived home but today she is feeling better. She made her first visit to our church with us today and she made quite the impression...she was very warmly greeted by all.
Dan had to return to work last Monday and Karen has been busy enjoying being a full time mom - for now. December will come fast when she will have to return to work but for now we're soaking up the time together.
Danika made a short visit to Karen's work on Thursday (with the help of Kelly) and soon we hope to bring her to Dan's work.
On Friday we will be taking her to the U of M International Adoption Clinic just to be checked over and to make sure her immunizations are current.
We're getting a little more sleep, Danika has had a couple of nights when she's slept from 9:30 til 7:30 - ahhh the rest mom and dad get then! Unfortunately these nights are still few and far between.
Thank you to all of you for your heartfelt and encouraging notes upon our return home, they have been a joy to read.
This weekend Grandma and Grandpa B and Uncle Dean came up for a visit, Miss D loves having them here! Friends from Karen's former church held a beautiful shower for her and it was so great to re-connect with such dear friends who have been such a huge part of her life.
We also picked out and brought home a beautiful glider rocker for Danika's room thanks to Grandma and Grandpa B, hopefully it will bring some more peaceful nights!
