Sunday was the Mid-Autumn festival here in China. The second biggest holiday of the year behind only the New Year. Much of the morning was spent at the bank for Dan handling the orphanage donation. Mom stayed and played/napped with Danika. We spent the afternoon just sitting and playing. Danika took a long nap. We spent the evening celebrating the Mid-Autumn festival. We started with a traditional dinner to celebrate the Mid-Autumn festival. Then we took a boat ride down the Yangtze river. They had lights on everywhere. They also, which I did not get a good picture of, would light lanterns that would float like minature hot air ballons off into the sky. Very colorful (red). Dan, Karen, & Danika did not take the boat ride. One of the things the orphanage director had told us is that she becomes very anxious in strange surroundings. That was very evident!!! Nothing would calm her. So moments before the 1.5 hour boat ride was to begin we got off and hailed a taxi back to the hotel. Our very gracious guide (Michelle) got off and helped us! Danika was just fine the minute we got off the boat and in a taxi, she became very peaceful. Today she sat and played by herself really for the first time.

The mid-Autumn festival sounds gorgeous with the pretty lanterns! Isn't it the best just hanging at the hotel and playing with her?
We didn't get to go on the boat ride either - I think it rained that night (actually it rained every night). Love her ducky pj's!
She is so cute!! You make a great family! I am so excited for you, CTMH club has been thinking about you and we hope all is going well. Hope to meet her some day!
